Rumors about Google launching a smartphone have been running around for a while now and have intensified this month.
There's not much detail yet but according to various sources this would be a Linux based device probably built by either HTC or LG Electronics and to be released in the first quarter of 2008. Google has, reportedly, approached several operators who have declined to comment.
The device will include cameras for photo and video, built-in Wi-Fi technology, 3G and GPS.
If all this is confirmed and the device has all the blings currently missing in iPhone I think we will be in for a revolution. I believe Google will bring more to the table than Apple did with the iPhone. Rumors also mention Google developing a so called "gPhone OS" to go with the phone.
