ILUG2007 Crew More than a week after ILUG2007 is over here are my final thoughts about it:

  • The conference was a huge success, everybody went home happy and feeling they got way more than what they paid for.
  • Although it's called "Irish" Lotus User Group you have got to try really hard to actually meet Irish people at the conference.
  • Ireland is a beautiful place and the Irish are great. Very friendly, helpful and fun people. Will be visiting again.
  • Met lots of great people from all over the world, some whose blogs I've been reading for a long time and some other anonymous admins\developers like myself.

  • Besides the organizers, there were a few more people involved in keeping things running, like Gayle Varner, Deborah Latter, Kelsey Oliver ( Rocky's daughter), Matt White and, of course, Volker who, among other things, organized the fund collection for Paul and Eileen's presents.

  • Having beer while a attending a session is definitely a good idea but I don't think you can do it anywhere except in Ireland, unfortunately.
  • GeekDinner at Nostromo was very nice, although some people took longer to get in than going through security checks at Heathrow.

  • Nice trip in Dublin Saturday morning and Glendalough and Avoca in the afternoon.

  • Here's a link to my set on flickr with some pictures (not many as most of the time the camera was with my wife visiting shops in Dublin).

Reminder: Check ILUG2008.org regularly to make sure I get a seat for 2008.
