Undocumented parameter

Bookmark : Bleed Yellow  del.icio.us  Technorati  Digg This  Add To Furl  Add To YahooMyWeb  Add To Reddit  Add To NewsVine

I'm not really sure this will be useful for any of you but I've just found and undocumented parameter in the refresh method of the notesUIDocument class.

This is what's in the Designer 7 & 8.5 Help:

Defined in
NotesUIDocument

Syntax

Call notesUIDocument.Refresh( [ IncludeRichTextItems ] )

Parameters

IncludeRichTextItems

This is what the type ahead shows:

A picture named M2

If you include that optional parameter the method will also refresh any embedded views or editors in the form.

Thank you IBM for allowing me to learn something everyday.

Get Well 2.0

A couple of days ago friend and fellow blogger Greyhawk68 wrote about how great it was to receive birthday wishes all day from his friends on Facebook and Twitter. He called it Birthday 2.0. On the same day while I was all by myself at the hospital waiting for my wife's surgery to end (seemed like two eternities) I had one of the most amazing demonstrations of friendship. A whole bunch of you who had an eye on twitter at the time never stopped sending me support messages. Some who I've already met in person and others whom I know only from reading blogs and forums over the last 15 years. To all of you who sent encouraging and get well messages thank you for never letting me feel alone, thank you for this Get Well 2.0.

We are now back home and my wife is making a good recovery, it wasn't one of the bad ones.

She says thanks for all the tweets, whatever that means.

Don't spend all your budget on an Nokia E71 just yet

A Nokia advertisement video was posted on YouTube showing two new devices. Their apparently working on two new Eseries devices, the E72 which is probably an upgrade to the E71 and the E75 which marks Nokia's foray into the side sliding form factor market. The video has already been pulled from YouTube and several other sites following a request from the manufacturer but you can still read about it and look at some still images taken from the video here.

Antivirus was found and I guess all blogs are now working properly again, fortunately the missing comments were not lost, they had been quarantined but could be easily retrieved intact.

Blog engine virus hitting community blogs

Bookmark : Bleed Yellow  del.icio.us  Technorati  Digg This  Add To Furl  Add To YahooMyWeb  Add To Reddit  Add To NewsVine

There seems to be some kind of virus going around that is affecting blogs and other sites lately, several problems have been reported such as redirections and now comments are also been 'lost'. Doesn't seem like a case of deleting an improper comment, I had the chance to read one of those but after hitting refresh it was gone. Be careful where you point your browser. You might end up trying to answer a comment only to find out it is no longer there.

How to read vowe.net properly

Bookmark : Bleed Yellow  del.icio.us  Technorati  Digg This  Add To Furl  Add To YahooMyWeb  Add To Reddit  Add To NewsVine

If you ever follow links to vowe.net from certain blogs in the lotus community you might have to block your browser from sending referrers or better yet, if you're using Firefox there are add-ons that allow you to do this selectively. Here are a few.
There seems to be a misconfiguration in the site engine which will redirect your browser to the homepage.
I'm sure this will be fixed in time.

Prompted by Phil Randolph's recent blog post about his son buying an old Mattel baseball game I decided to go spend a couple of hours in the 'archive' and dig out some of the old days cool toys.

Here's the first one I found.

Sorry for the poor picture quality I was able to find the game but not the flash for my camera.
I believe this is a 1980 unit. There's more where this came from, if you're in to these oldies stay tuned, I'll post a few more throughout the week.

Cuil or the art of transformation

I won't bother you with more details. Chris Linfoot has already written a nice piece about this Google killer.

But curious as I am I searched for my name and there it was on the first page of results, a link to my blog, an excerpt from one the entries here and a nice picture of someone I have have never seen before.

Here's me according to Cuil:

At least he is fully dressed. I think.
